Built on a Strong Foundation

In 1995, having developed long-distance learning solutions for the Department of Agriculture and other private sector companies before the commercialization of the Internet, Brian Carlin, then President of Cornerstone Solutions Group, wrote his first white paper on an accelerated learning and assessment model using the Internet.

In 1998, Cornerstone spun off LIBRIX Learning, the first incarnation of the current company, to focus on bringing that vision to life through the development of the LIBRIX Learning Management System and custom e-learning courseware.

In 2001, Maritz, a $1.5B sales and marketing services company, purchased LIBRIX Learning, integrated it into its newly formed Learning business unit and named Brian Carlin the division President. The business expanded the capabilities of the former LIBRIX Learning to include the development and delivery of leader-led classroom training, as well as leadership development programs, channel influence programs and large-scale customer experience improvement programs.

In 2010, Maritz restructured their Learning unit and spun off a portion of it to Brian Carlin, who has reconstituted it as LIBRIX, LLC, a training and development agency. Maritz maintains a minority equity position in LIBRIX.

Today, LIBRIX enjoys the benefits and experience of its strong heritage and has created a training and development agency that combines this deep level of experience with a diverse set of capabilities to offer a wide range of training and development solutions – from the design and development of small, engaging training modules to the design and execution of large-scale training and development initiatives.
